Permit Timeliness
Permit Timeliness Report is in response to a State Auditor’s Performance Audit, Regulatory Reform: Improving Permit Timeliness and RCW 43.42A. Each regulatory agency will develop a plan to improve permit clarity, predictability, and timeliness. Agencies must consider the customer experience to ensure permit assistance is simple to use, easy to access, and designed in a customer-friendly manner. Agencies will report progress to the Governor’s Office for Regulatory Innovation and Assistance (ORIA). ORIA prepares and distributes reports, with participation from the State Auditor’s Office and Results Washington.

Comprehensive Progress Report and Performance Data

The report demonstrates improved clarity, predictability, and timeliness of permitting. They identified the permits available for data collection, application and decision making processingtime, and permits targeted for improvement efforts. Agencies share successes from their improvement efforts. ORIA delivers the report to the Governor and economic development committees of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The next report will be in 2018.
ORIA collects performance data, permit application, and decision making processing times. ORIA publishes the data in the central repository annually.
