Household Goods Carrier Permit

What is the purpose of this permit?
Any person who conducts operations as a household goods carrier in Washington intrastate commerce must have a permit from the commission. Transportation of household goods means the for-hire movement of household goods by motor vehicle over the public highways within the state of Washington. This includes advertising, providing estimates, arranging for receipt, delivery, storage-in-transit, handling, and providing any accessorial services in connection with that movement.

How long will it take to review my application?
It takes 1.8 days to process a completed application. If the application is incomplete, it takes an average of 30.1 days. There is a mandatory 30 day waiting period based on RCW 81.80.075(2).
