To allow a business to perform alterations to Factory Assembled Structures for: Commercial Coaches, Factory Built Temporary Worker Housing Structures, Manufactured / Mobile Homes, Recreational Park Trailers, Recreational Vehicles, and Vendor / Medical Units

Fees vary, depending on the type of work performed. A fee schedule is available on the L&I web site.

The application is called 'Manufactured/Mobile Home Permit Application' is online and can be accessed at https://lni.wa.gov/licensing-permits/manufactured-modular-mobile-structures/manufactured-home-permits-inspections/.
Do I need to include anything with my application?
Payment needs to be included with the permit application. Two sets of plans must be submitted with the application, if plan review is required.
Is the decision on my permit dependent on anything besides the information in my application?
Decision on permits may be dependent on the accuracy of plans submitted when plan review is required.
How long will it take to review my application?
Allow 2-3 days for a response to alteration applications for Manufactured/Mobile Homes.

All other alteration applications, allow 3-4 weeks for a response. Accuracy and completeness speeds up the processing time.
Where do I submit my application?
Applications may be submitted online, by mail or in-person at a L&I office.
How long is my permit valid?
Permit is valid for one year.

Permit Timeliness Results

Permit Timeliness data collection is in response to a State Auditor’s Performance Audit and RCW 43.42A. Each regulatory agency developed a plan to improve permit clarity, predictability, and timeliness. Each agency considers the customers experience to ensure permit assistance is simple to use, easy to access, and designed in a customer-friendly manner. Agencies report progress to the Governor’s Office for Regulatory Innovation and Assistance (ORIA). ORIA prepares and distributes reports, with participation from the State Auditor’s Office and Results Washington.
