Description/Purpose

The Water Recreation Program reviews the design and construction of water recreation facilities.

Construction of new, remodel, alteration, and modification projects for water recreation facilities.

Fees are as follows:

  • Swimming pools with volumes 100,000 gallons or more is $800 for 8 hours review
  • Swimming pools with volume less than 100,000 gallons is $400 for 4 hours review
  • Spa pools is $400 for 4 hours review
  • Recirculating spray feature is $400 for 4 hours review
  • Wading pool or non-recirculating spray feature is $200 for 2 hours review
  • Existing pool (swim, spa, wade, spray) is $100 for 1 hour review

Additional fees of $99 per hour will be charged for hours of review beyond those provided by the base fees.

Permit Timeliness Results

Permit Timeliness data collection is in response to a State Auditor’s Performance Audit and RCW 43.42A. Each regulatory agency developed a plan to improve permit clarity, predictability, and timeliness. Each agency considers the customers experience to ensure permit assistance is simple to use, easy to access, and designed in a customer-friendly manner. Agencies report progress to the Governor’s Office for Regulatory Innovation and Assistance (ORIA). ORIA prepares and distributes reports, with participation from the State Auditor’s Office and Results Washington.
